FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Vance Takes Tour of Sadler Health Center in September ShowHARRISBURG – Sen. Patricia Vance's (R-Cumberland/York) September edition of the Vance Report features a tour of the Sadler Health Center, which provides medical, dental, mental health and other services to the uninsured and underinsured. "This center plays a critical role in providing health care to area residents, not just those who live in Carlisle," Vance said. "Unfortunately, many people are not aware of Sadler. I'm hopeful this program will raise awareness of the services available." Leading the tour are Puspa Das, executive director, and Christopher Houston, chairman of the board of directors. The Sadler Caring Center was established in the early 1980's and evolved as part of the charitable mission of the Carlisle Hospital and Health Services (CHHS). CHSS sold its assets to Health Management Association, which agreed to maintain the Caring Center as a health clinic for the uninsured in downtown Carlisle, but only until June 2003. A new non-profit corporation was formed to assume the operations of the Sadler Caring Center. The Sadler Health Center commenced operations on June 19, 2003. The show airs on Blue Ridge Communications at 6 p.m. on Tuesdays on Channel 8. Comcast Cable that serves the Shippensburg area will air the program at 4 p.m. on Thursdays on Channel 21. Comcast Cable that serves the Carlisle area will air the show at the same time but on Channel 11. York Community Access shows the program at 9 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month on Channel 16. Finally, Comcast Cable in the Greater Harrisburg area will air the program on Channel 20 with no set time schedule. Vance's district includes all of Cumberland County and Carroll, Fairview, Franklin, Monaghan, Warrington and Washington townships and Dillsburg, Franklintown and Wellsville boroughs in York County. |
