FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Vance Announces Shippensburg Businesses Awarded Small Business Advantage GrantHARRISBURG – Nealy/Rine Enterprises of Shippensburg recently was awarded a $6,068 Small Business Advantage Grant, said Sen. Patricia Vance (R-Cumberland/York). The grant will be used to purchase and install high efficiency mower equipment. "Most lawn maintenance contractors are small businesses that struggle to make ends meet especially with the rising gasoline prices," Vance said. "Not only will this grant help cut fuel consumption and thus costs, but it will also reduce pollution. It is a win for everyone." The Small Business Advantage Grant Program gives a 50 percent matching grant of up to $7,500 to encourage the implementation of equipment or processes to reduce energy consumption and pollution prevention while helping to increase profitability for small businesses. The program is open to small business owners whose business or facility is located in Pennsylvania. Eligible applicants also must be for-profit business enterprises that are corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships, sole proprietorships or other legal entities that have no more than 100 employees and are a separate legal business entity at the time the application is submitted. Vance's district includes all of Cumberland County and Carroll, Fairview, Franklin, Monaghan, Warrington and Washington townships and Dillsburg, Franklintown and Wellsville boroughs in York County. |
