FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Police Dog Training School Spotlighted in August Vance ShowHARRISBURG – Sen. Patricia Vance's (R-Cumberland/York) August edition of the Vance Report features a tour of Castle's K-9 in Monroe Township. "The area is fortunate to have such a well-regarded law enforcement dog training school here," Vance said. "For 34 years, law enforcement personnel from throughout the United States have journeyed to Castle's K-9 for training. More than 2,000 dogs and handlers have gone through the program." The law enforcement dog training agency began in 1972 by Bill Castle and has nationally recognized certification. It is one of the largest and most reputable police canine training agencies in the United States. The dogs trained at Castle's are responsible for the seizure of more than $1 million in narcotics, cash and property. Most of the canines are imported from Europe. The staff includes four master trainers and four trainers with more than 80 years of handling and training experience. Vance's show airs on Blue Ridge Communications at 6 p.m. on Tuesdays on Channel 8. Comcast Cable that serves the Shippensburg area will air the program at 4 p.m. on Thursdays on Channel 21. Comcast Cable that serves the Carlisle area will air the show at the same time but on Channel 11. York Community Access shows the program at 9 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month on Channel 16. Finally, Comcast Cable in the Greater Harrisburg area will air the program on Channel 20 with no set time schedule. Vance's district includes all of Cumberland County and Carroll, Fairview, Franklin, Monaghan, Warrington and Washington townships and Dillsburg, Franklintown and Wellsville boroughs in York County. |
