Nitrogen Tire Inflation System Grants Awarded to Three Cumberland County Businesses, Vance Says

HARRISBURG – Almost $10,000 in Nitrogen Tire Inflation System Grants recently were awarded to three Cumberland County businesses, said Sen. Pat Vance (R-Cumberland/York).

"Inflating automobile tires with nitrogen provides a number of benefits, including improved fuel economy and extended tire wear," Vance said. "By increasing the number of nitrogen tire inflation systems available, it allows easier access to this money saving process."

The following businesses received the grants:

  • Freysinger Pontiac GMC Buick Inc. of Mechanicsburg – $4,625.
  • Callen Kinback Inc. of Lemoyne -- $2,998
  • Leach's Automotive Service LLC of Lemoyne -- $1,855

The grant program provides 50 percent matching reimbursement grants of up to $5,000 to automotive service providers to purchase and install a nitrogen tire inflation system. It is part of the Alternative Energy Investment Act.

Vance's district includes all of Cumberland County and Carroll, Fairview, Franklin, Monaghan, Warrington and Washington townships and Dillsburg, Franklintown and Wellsville boroughs in York County.
