FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Two Community Conservation Grants Awarded, Vance SaysHARRISBURG – The Community Conservation Partnerships Program recently awarded more than $350,000 in grants to a municipality and authority in Cumberland County, said Sen. Pat Vance (R-Cumberland/York). "Expanding and improving recreational areas aid healthy lifestyle choices," Vance said. "Both of the projects awarded funding have been in the development stages for a while. I'm sure residents look forward to their completion." The grants awarded were:
The C2P2 grant program is administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources to provide financial and technical assistance to local governments, river and trail organizations, land trusts and other nonprofits for the planning, acquisition and development of park, recreation, conservation and greenways projects. Funding for these projects comes from the Keystone Recreation, Park and Conservation Fund (Key 93), the Environmental Stewardship Fund (Growing Greener I) and Growing Greener Bond Fund (Growing Greener II). Vance's district includes all of Cumberland County and Carroll, Fairview, Franklin, Monaghan, Warrington and Washington townships and Dillsburg, Franklintown and Wellsville boroughs in York County. |
